Whether you’re flying into the region or venturing on a road trip, Telluride offers a unique journey marked with unmatched scenery, heritage and charm. We will admit that it is difficult to get to, however once you’re there, it is difficult to leave!
We recommend using Skyscanner to find the best flights and Rome2Rio for the best travel options. Hopper is a great app that sends you notifications for deals on best time to fly and best time to buy. American Airlines and United Airlines fly direct into Montrose from Denver, Phoenix, Chicago, Dallas/Ft Worth and Houston. Also available is Boutique Air, a company that has bought older private planes and sells seats at commercial pricing. They fly direct into Cortez, CO from Denver, Phoenix and Salt Lake City.
The Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) is the primary airport for Telluride. It is a scenic 65 miles (1 hour) away from Telluride. Several transportation companies provide service from Montrose to Telluride (see below for a deal!). Rental cars are also available at the Montrose Airport, but we recommend the ground transportation option as once you arrive in Telluride a car is unnecessary (see transportation options within Telluride for more info).
Guests may also fly into the Telluride Regional Airport (TEX), located just 6 miles from town, by connecting through Denver on Great Lakes/United. The Telluride Airport is also open to general aviation, including charter and private planes.
